Community Outcomes in Asthma
The National Asthma Community Grants Directory
- Are you a health professional or community organisation with an interest in asthma or health promotion?
- Do you know what Australian health and community groups have done to help people with asthma?
- Would you like to know about the asthma initiatives that have been co-ordinated in your state?
Welcome to the Community Outcomes in Asthma web directory—a fully searchable, user-friendly directory of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing-funded grant projects that were conducted between 2002 and 2005.
Over six hundred National Asthma Community Grants of $300 to $12,000 were awarded to projects that aimed to improve the health of people with asthma, provide information that promoted better asthma management and promote awareness of better asthma management among individuals and health professionals.
The Community Outcomes in Asthma directory, created by the Asthma Foundation of WA, enables you to search through the grant projects by year, topic, state, target group, grant amount or keyword.
A number of grants have been showcased and additional information has been provided by the grant organisations about the successful elements of their projects and the barriers that were encountered along the way. The resources that were produced by the showcase grant projects are also available for download, along with project reports and images where relevant.
To start searching the directory, head to the A–Z Grant Index or Showcase Grants sections. You will see the headings ‘year’, ‘grant’, ‘project title’, ‘organisation’, ‘primary target area’ and ‘state’. Simply click on the heading that you are interested in and the projects will sort in alphabetical or numerical order (click on the same heading again to change the sort direction). To view a particular project summary, click on that project’s title.
Contact details have been provided for most of the grant organisations and we encourage health professionals and community groups to share information and develop new partnerships in their respective fields.
Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions and Disclaimer for detailed information about the directory. To order a CD-ROM of the directory or for any other enquiries, please contact the Community Outcomes in Asthma team on 08 9289 3602 or admin.training@asthmawa.org.au.
